Overview
This course aims to provide a retrospective of the adoption of LLVM for building Linux kernels in 2020 and explores the tradeoffs and focus areas for 2021. Participants will review outstanding work, understand the benefits of using LLVM, and learn how to engage in kernel and toolchain development. The course covers topics such as compiler performance, lazy parse, Bolt, and addresses audience questions. The teaching method involves a presentation style, and the intended audience includes Linux distros, kernel developers, CI systems operators, and individuals interested in kernel and toolchain development within the Linux ecosystem.
