Cooperation and Conflict in the Relationship between Government and Industry in Cyberspace

This course explores the challenges and dynamics in the relationship between government and industry in cyberspace. The learning outcomes include understanding the role of the USG in protecting commercial industry from cyber threats and the complexities that arise when commercial firms distance themselves strategically from the government. Participants will learn about the implications of this distancing on the USG's ability to act, protect, and consume goods and services. The course covers topics such as the motivation for cooperation, types of security, internet balkanization, federal legislation, information sharing, public concerns, and cloud security.
