Divergent Thinking - An Edge That Can Keep Korean Students Off the Edge

Minjae was a normal school student in Korea but was extremely stressed from academic pressure and abnormal academic schedules outside of the school. So he moved to an international school in order to get rid of those stresses and social pressure. He had this experience and knows how harsh the reality for the Korean students is, and he is saying that we need a crucial change in this education system.

As a normal Korean high school student, I totally agree with his opinion that a big shift in our current education is seriously needed. Almost every student here is dedicating their whole adolescence only to enter an university. However, the problem is that university entrance exam kills our creativity because it requires all same skills to all different individual students. Also, the overall social pressure makes students losers who do not go to university or who go to the low-graded ones. These problems make our society's teenagers ill.

I really thank Minjae for handling the issue. We definitely got to change this society in a better direction even if it takes a long time. We have to make students value how they are learning, become more decisive, and consider about things they have to keep or cut. And the most important thing all of us should do? Divergent Thinking!
