Overview
| Rocket-Powered Puck |
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of game physics as it relates to PyMunk, a Python library for creating 2D physics simulations. Using drawing tools and object creation techniques, students explore the many possibilities for building their own physics-based game. Students learn the basics of PyMunk installation and learn how to design and create a simulated 2D environment with circles, floors, walls, and other objects. Students then use the principles of elasticity and friction to launch the ball and create obstacles for the simulation. Finally, students create a swinging pendulum and a rocket-powered puck to complete the course. With these tools, students are able to create and explore their own simulated environments and games.
