The Cultural Taboos of Suicide and Mental Illness

This course aims to explore and challenge the cultural taboos surrounding suicide and mental illness. By destigmatizing these topics, the goal is to reduce the suffering they cause. The course covers facts about suicide, the cost of suicide, depression, the dilemma surrounding mental health, and the impact of language on perceptions. The teaching method involves a TEDx talk format lasting 20 minutes. The intended audience includes individuals interested in understanding and addressing the stigma associated with suicide and mental illness.
