Mindfulness: A Focus on Adolescents

University of Glasgow via FutureLearn

Support emotional wellbeing through mindfulness activities

In this course you’ll get practical illustrations of how mindfulness can be of particular value in the lives of everyone, and younger people in particular.

Get a deeper understanding of mindfulness for your and others’ benefit

Caring for your emotional wellbeing is every bit as important as taking care of your physical health, and mindfulness can benefit people of all ages.

You’ll be introduced to mindfulness and explore the many ways in which mindfulness can be applied in daily life. You’ll be able to explore the research which demonstrates the value and effective application of mindfulness.

As you develop your understanding of how mindfulness can be used in various environments, you’ll have opportunities to apply what you learn.

Throughout the course you’ll be able to access further resources to help you along your mindfulness journey.

This course is for all professionals interested in mindfulness, including healthcare professionals, educators, parents and anyone looking to enhance their understanding of mindfulness. Anyone interested in health research may also be interested in this course.

The Certificate of Achievement for this course may be useful for providing evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) or commitment to your career.

This course is an educational resource, it is not a therapeutic tool. Self-care resources have been embedded into the course materials. However, if you are feeling distressed, it is important to seek professional help in order to receive the support you need.
