Overview
This course aims to explore how the most populous region in the world can avoid the negative impacts of rising nationalism and geopolitical tensions on its future growth. The learning outcomes include understanding the importance of public-private business coordination, confidence-building, and cultural diplomacy, as well as developing a common natural resource agenda. The course teaches skills such as analyzing trust deficits, perspectives on trust deficits from different countries, and strategies for building trust and stabilizers in East Asia. The teaching method involves presentations and discussions by experts in the field, with a focus on practical solutions and suggestions. The intended audience for this course includes policymakers, business leaders, academics, and anyone interested in international relations and Asian geopolitics.
