Issues Concerning the PA-NP in the ED - EM & Acute Care Course

This course aims to address key issues concerning Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Care settings. The learning outcomes include gaining a deeper understanding of the roles of PAs and NPs, navigating malpractice issues, optimizing the consultant and physician roles, and exploring the credentialing process. The course teaches skills such as effectively managing chief complaints, collaborating with other attendings, and understanding the learning curve in emergency care. The teaching method involves presenting evidence-based information from the Emergency Medical Abstracts (EMA) database through 28 presentations and four faculty panels. This course is intended for healthcare professionals working in emergency medicine seeking to enhance their practice and stay updated on new developments and controversies in the field.
