Overview
The course teaches a novel system-guided pattern lock scheme called "SysPal" designed to enhance the security of user-chosen Android screen lock patterns. The learning outcomes include understanding the concept of using a small number of randomly selected points in pattern selection and evaluating the security and usability of different SysPal policies through large-scale online and lab studies. The course aims to equip learners with the skills to create more secure patterns while maintaining usability. The teaching method involves presenting research findings and study results to demonstrate the effectiveness of SysPal policies. The intended audience for this course includes individuals interested in Android security, pattern lock mechanisms, and usability in digital authentication systems.
