Human Resource Development

Overview

The course aims to equip students to develop themselves into critically reflective and capable HRD practitioners, or a manager who can facilitate the learning of others. The major objective of the course is to explain and demonstrate the contribution of HRD in an organization and enable students to develop an ability to decide learning and training needs, and have competence in the design and delivery of learning programmes. Organizations are made up of people: their knowledge, skills, attitudes and interconnections. In order to survive and thrive, organizations need to facilitate the growth of all of these as part of an HRD strategy. Human Resource Development (HRD) is a key activity that systematically leads to the growth and development of people in organizations, and makes organizations more effective. The process of identifying needs and designing and delivering HRD interventions that are part of the course are crucial skills for all managers. The course will focus on the role of HRD in designing and implementing appropriate strategies in line with the business goals of their organization.

i really enjoyed taking your course. Even though this is not a major or subject I am pursuing, I really enjoyed getting to know more about HRD. You were very good at telling your students when things were due and where to find all the material needed to correctly answer the questions you asked. They only thing I really had a problem with was sometimes understanding it, and or relaying to you that I understood the questions at hand. Also, I needed to better manage my time, instead of leaving things to the last minute, but that was in no way something you did wrong. THATS WHY I RATE 3

Overall I enjoyed the course. I liked that everything was straight forward. There never was any confusion on assignments, which is always a plus with online courses. I’ve taken online courses where assignments would be confusing and the teacher was slow to respond to emails. The one thing that I disliked was that you were not able to look at an assignment after the due date. If you weren’t able to turn in the assignment on time you weren’t able to look at the assignment to try to turn it in late. Despite that, I enjoyed the course.
