Overview

This course provides a gameplay runthrough of the board game Spirit Island. The learning outcomes include understanding the setup of the game for different player counts, recognizing the abilities and limitations of each spirit, and correctly applying game rules such as the use of fear cards and powers. The course teaches skills such as strategic thinking, rule interpretation, and decision-making in a board game setting. The teaching method involves a video format with gameplay demonstrations and explanations. The intended audience for this course is board game enthusiasts looking to learn how to play Spirit Island or improve their gameplay strategies.

Syllabus

For two players the boards should be set up a little differently. The Coasts aren't supposed to be this far apart
Each spirit has a "starting board", and places their initial presence only on that board. The two lands where Vital Strength of Earth has presence should be on the same board. This will matter more for a game with more than 2 players.
This is an outdated version of Land of Haunts and Embers, now it's supposed to always add Blight. Otherwise it's very powerful, as Richard said it was
Fear cards aren't supposed to be harmful, they do vary a lot in their usefulness in a given situation.
When you repeat a power it needs to act on the same space it did before. So you can't push Explorers from two separate regions.
You can't actually use power you get on a turn for powers that turn: you need to pay the energy for powers at the beginning of the turn, during the "choose powers" phase.
