While Professional Education courses are stand-alone courses available to professionals for a cost, Professional Certificate Programs are groups of courses in specific fields, similar to MicroMasters and Xseries. After completing all the courses, a certificate is awarded. Unlike MicroMasters, they do not offer a path to credit. Compared to Xseries, they are supposedly more employer friendly. Here is how edX describes them: Professional Certificates develop the proficiency and expertise that employers are looking for with specialized training and professional education.
